  • Overview

    The Director of Marketing will lead the firm’s branding, public relations and corporate communications services.  Additionally, the Director will manage the firm’s marketing staff within the Corporate Development department in support of the Enterprise’s strategic plan.  These activities will support the Enterprise as it diversifies its service offerings in the major Texas marketplaces while expanding nationally with specific technical disciplines.


    The Director of Marketing will report directly to the Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).  In this capacity, the Director will help align the Corporate Development Department’s services to support the firm’s strategic direction.  Additionally, the Director will serve as an internal consultant and strategic partner to the firm’s senior leadership, corporate department leaders, and participants in the Enterprise’s growth efforts.


    Responsibilities include upholding brand standards and corporate messaging; managing public relations, advertising, and marketing initiatives; overseeing and supporting proposal/teaming efforts; representing the firm through professional organizations and community involvement; overseeing and supporting information management processes; and supporting the corporation’s strategic initiatives and special projects. 


    • Mannagement:  Participate in developing the Corporate Development Department budget and annual plan.  Establish performance metrics for the department and individual team members.  Provide coaching, feedback, and professional development for staff members. Deploy department staff and outside consultants in alignment with the firm’s strategic direction. Provide quality assurance for the department’s deliverables and internal client experience
    • Internal Client Consulting: Conduct ongoing needs assessments, planning support and consulting for the firm’s senior leadership, corporate department leaders, office leaders, and other growth team members
    • Brand Management: Lead the firm’s brand management and branding activities including website, social media, collateral, creative design, promotional activities, and promotional items.  Manage the firm’s branding guidelines and adherence to branding standards
    • Public Relations/Media Relations/Advertisement:  Facilitate the crafting and distribution of external communications.  Lead the firm’s media relations and crisis management activities
    • Corporate Communications:  Facilitate crafting and distribution of internal communication to employees from senior leadership and corporate departments including company newsletter, CEO and president messages, corporate department newsletters, and presentations
    • Professional Development and Best Practices:  Participate in continuous learning and sourcing for best practices in professional services marketing and corporate communications.  Facilitate deliverables that compare favorably with national/international firms in the industry.  Participate in and serve in leadership roles in relevant trade organizations and community outreach
    • Understand, adhere and participate in the Raba Kistner Health and Safety and Behavior Based Safety Programs and set a good safety example
    • Other duties as assigned by Direct Report



    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or technical field
    • Over ten (10) years of experience in marketing and corporate communications with at least five of those years managing a staff
    • Experience serving as an internal consultant to executive leadership in marketing and/or corporate communications
    • Ability to communicate effectively through public speaking and in writing with an audience ranging from C-Suite executives to front-line employees
    • Proven track record managing media relations
    • Experience developing department plans, budgets and managing departmental costs
    • Experience managing website launches, re-branding and social media activities
    • Proven track record working effectively in a team environment as leader and as team member
    • Excellent writing and oral communication skills
    • Good time management skills and ability to balance short-term deadlines against long-term goals
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, InDesign and Photoshop
    • Possess valid Texas driver’s license and meet company's auto insurability requirements 


    • Works in normal office environment
    • Work related responsibilities require occasional travel out of town to Raba Kistner offices and client offices, as necessary
