  • Overview

    Serve as a Senior Recruiter on the Human Resource Management Team located at the Raba Kistner headquarters in San Antonio, TX. Responsible for sourcing, interviewing, and coordinating hiring of strategic candidates throughout our organization. Proactively and effectively develops networks and pipelines of potential candidates.


    Raba Kistner, a national engineering, environmental, and project management organization, is currently seeking qualified applicants for a Senior Recruiter to be located in our San Antonio, TX office. The person who fills this position will be primarily responsible for working with hiring managers throughout the firm to bring engineering, management and other technical level staff into our organization.


    • Analyze the information provided by a candidate, source candidates (both cold calling and through other sources), perform prescreen phone calls, conduct interviews, document results, and discuss the candidate status with the Hiring Manager and interviewing team
    • Find talented individuals to meet company requirements, which requires being active on social media forums, career fair attendance, making cold calls, college recruiting, utilizing employee referral bonus program and other creative methods to identify qualified candidates
    • Capture workforce planning with business units to gather requirements for strategic hires
    • Discuss posting qualifications and overall recruiting strategy with the Hiring Manager and gain approval for work up front
    • Act as liaison with preferred vendors (employment agencies, temporary agencies, and contracting firms) to ensure steady candidate flow and contract compliance
    • Build a network and relationships with Hiring Managers and key staff members to proactively address recruitment needs
    • Maintain active database of potential candidates in the appropriate applicant tracking software, documenting phone calls and other contacts and communication
    • Communicate and motivate candidates regarding career opportunities and packages at Raba Kistner
    • Provide excellent client service to the entire organization and work closely with the Human Resource Director to ensure success
    • Provide business with status reporting on all staffing and turnover, such as cost per hire, time to fill, monthly and annual turnover by office
    • Manages new employee relocation by determining employee requirements, negotiating with relocation companies, locating temporary housing and providing community introductions
    • Improves organization attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices, monitoring job offers and compensation practices, emphasizing benefits and perks
    • Manages intern program by conducting orientations, scheduling rotations and assignments, monitoring intern job contributions and coordinating training and coaching with managers
    • Minimum 8-10 years of recruiting experience
    • Ability to work well and be successful in a team environment and independently
    • Excellent written/verbal communication and customer service skills
    • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work with a wide variety of people
    • Strong problem solving by proactively driving results and being solution oriented
    • Good computer skills. Must be willing to conduct some administrative tasks to ensure complete and accurate information provided on every position filled
    • Executive presence is required
    • Good organizational skills and follow through required
    • Understand, adhere and participate in the Raba Kistner Health and Safety and Behavior Based Safety Programs and set a good safety example

    • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) and 8 - 10 years of Recruiting experience required. Prefer candidates with industry experience and behavioral interviewing skills
    • Must have experience with full life cycle recruiting including demonstrated expertise in advanced internet searching, candidate research and cold calling
    • Considerable skill in interviewing techniques, a good knowledge of all functions within the organization, and extensive knowledge of federal and state laws regarding employment practices
    • This position requires an extremely perceptive person, who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels. Must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill, and the public image
    • Must have computer skills (experience with HR systems and applicant tracking systems) required. Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel
    • Ability to continuously drive for process improvement coupled with excellent written and communication skills
    • Attention to detail and strong follow through skills required
    • Strong interpersonal skills are essential
    • Knowledge of benefit and compensation programs also helpful
    • Must be willing to participate in and facilitate in a team environment

    • Project Management: Must have strong project management, systems and process skills. Will need to be able to define and implement multiple projects
    • Confidentiality and Integrity: Must be able to represent and model integrity within the organization. Must possess the highest degree of confidentiality

    • Work related responsibilities require occasional travel out of town to Raba Kistner offices, client offices, and project locations, as necessary

    Must pass a drug test prior to employment and will be subject to post-accident, random, and reasonable cause testing during employment.
