The Project Manager/Engineer in Training’s primary responsibility is to act as a project manager on San Antonio CoMET Projects. These duties include reviewing project documents, project set-up, technical review of observation and testing reports, review of billing and invoices, client communication reviewing field and laboratory engineering reports, performing construction materials testing (CoMET) engineering investigations and studies dealing with construction related issues in a timely and accurate manner within the specified budget. Duties will also include coordinating and participating in field observations; classification and characterization of construction materials’ physical properties; assignment of laboratory and field tests; interpretation of engineering data; performing engineering calculations and the preparation of engineering reports. Secondary responsibilities include supporting the geotechnical engineering activities in the field and preparation of reports.
Additional important responsibilities include: marketing and selling consulting and testing services; the efficient and economical use of company resources in the analyses and solution of engineering problems; preparation of forensic, engineering and test reports; managing assigned personnel; preparation of proposals including scoping and pricing; and training and monitoring of construction materials technicians in the laboratory and field.
In addition to technical and project related responsibilities, the CoMET Project Manager/Engineer in Training may also support the timely preparation of accurate invoices and participate in collection activities.
The CoMET Project Manager/Engineer in Training must possess good oral and written communications skills and interpersonal skills to be effective in dealing with fellow staff members, clients and the general public.
Must pass a drug test prior to employment and will be subject to post-accident, random, and reasonable cause testing during employment.
