Overview

The Architectural CADD Designer will be primarily responsible for supporting the Raba Kistner Facilities consulting initiatives in the San Antonio Region and other Regions through an integrated team approach. 

 

The Architectural CADD Designer, working with the Forensic Services staff, will be responsible for supporting the expansion of our technical knowledge base with respect to architectural related services in support of our Forensic projects. 

 

Operationally, the Architectural CADD Designer shall assist in duties, ranging from scope development, budget and proposal preparation, architectural facilities and engineering production work, including but not limited to preliminary presentation documents, design development documents, and project plans and specifications (i.e., construction documents) under the direction of the professional staff. He/she will support the Company’s objectives of meeting our client’s needs and expectations in a timely manner while achieving his/her individual utilization targets and the Unit’s profit objectives.

Responsibilities

TECHNICAL:

  • Assists the Engineers, Project Managers, and/or Professionals in the preparation of design and detail documents for project work
  • Assists in the preparation and maintenance of technical drawing and informational libraries
  • Assists in the scheduling of CADD Projects to meet Client deadlines. Prepares or assists in preparation of proposal submittals
  • Assist in preparation of CADD/Revit system drawings as required for Projects
  • Understand, adhere and participate in the Raba Kistner Health and Safety and Behavior Based Safety Programs and set a good safety example
  • Other duties as assigned by Direct Report

FINANCIAL:

  • Assist in approvals and direction of project purchases as required by the Direct Report
  • Within a six-month period, achieve average utilization target goal of not less than 85 percent

LEGAL:

  • Notifies Direct Report and Chief Operating Officer of all potential disputes that may lead to legal claims or litigation

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors and/or Master’s Degree in Architecture or Architectural Technology; 4 years plus applicable experience in Project management, Architectural design, and construction document preparation
  • Ability to travel to project sites and maneuver over rough and uneven terrain
  • Good oral communication skills to interact with clients and staff successfully. Speaking with clarity and understanding skills are a necessity to prevent costly and time-consuming problems
  • Good written communication skills for preparing proposals, reports, and other architectural/engineering documents
  • Good organizational skills to utilize company resources efficiently and effectively
  • Possess valid Texas driver’s license and meet company’s auto insurability requirements
  • Management skills to assist in supervision of projects and monitor and evaluate progress of projects
  • Walking, standing, crawling, kneeling, climbing, and repeated bending, as needed, while working on sites
  • Distinguish colors and shades of color for identification and analysis
  • Heavy lifting and carrying 45+ lbs. of tools and equipment
  • Ability to drive company vehicle, manage and complete all assigned jobs, efficiently and on time
  • Ability to comply with attendance and tardy requirements as noted in most current edition of Corporate Policy Manual

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Works in a normal office environment, also works outside, and is subject to weather conditions
  • Potential exposure to movement of heavy equipment on construction sites and hazards of dangerous chemical/solvents exposure that may require proper safety procedures be followed
  • Exposed to noise, dust, fumes, grease and oils, radiant and electrical energy, and vibration
  • May work protracted or irregular hours due to client needs (i.e., other than 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and/or other than Monday through Friday)
  • Occupational safety and health 40-hour training course or ability to pass course
  • Work related responsibilities may require travel out of town to Raba-Kistner offices, client offices, and project locations

Must pass a drug test prior to employment and will be subject to post-accident, random, and reasonable cause testing during employment.
