  • Overview

    Responsible for assisting with construction inspection and/or field testing. Responsible for continuing training and education to advance as field technician. Responsible for assisting in meeting established project deadlines. Position will support projects in the Freeport and Houston areas.


    • Reviews inspection procedures, verifying accuracy and completeness of inspection reports
    • Conducts routine maintenance of construction inspection equipment as well as the calibration and proper documentation of all applicable equipment
    • Informs construction supervisor of workload, overtime requirements and status of current and future projects
    • Conducts field inspections and testing as required
    • Assists construction manager and engineering staff with special assignments
    • Understand, adhere and participate in the Raba Kistner Health and Safety and BBS Programs and set a good safety example
    • Other duties as assigned by Direct Report


    • High school or GED
    • Minimum one year related experience, 5 years experience as a construction materials technician desired
    • Technical certifications such as ACI Level 1 and 2, NICET Level II or higher. (Technical experience greater than five years will qualify as evidence of competency and can be substituted for the required technical certifications for ACI Level 2 or NICET Level III). Will provide training and support for certifications
    • Possess valid Texas driver’s license and meet company’s auto insurability requirements
    • Completion of Troxler Manufacturing or equal radiation safety course to utilize nuclear gauges
    • Ability to read and understand instructions, blueprints, specifications, labels, reports, etc.
    • Math skills to analyze sample results
    • Heavy lifting and carrying 45+ lbs.
    • Utilize hand tools such as sledge hammers, shovels, and picks
    • Good oral and written communication skills to communicate problems, status of work, daily reports, etc.
    • Ability to work outside and work on equipment
    • Ability to read and understand instructions, labels, reports, etc.
    • Presents a professional appearance to best represent the company
    • Ability to comply with all attendance requirements as noted in most current edition of Corporate Policy Manual


    • Works outside and is subject to weather conditions
    • Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards and dangerous chemical/solvents if proper safety procedures are not followed
    • Exposed to noise, dust, fumes, radiant and electrical energy
    • Works on ladders and scaffolding
    • May work protracted or irregular hours
    • Flexibility to work irregular hours due to client needs. Sometimes with little or no advanced notice.
    • Work related responsibilities require travel out of town to Raba Kistner offices, client offices, and project locations
